A tsunami is a series of water waves that is mostly caused by earthquakes with an epicenter that is located offshore. The original Japanese termliterally translates as "harbor wave". The first documentary is about the terrible 2004 Tsunami. Before 2004 the phenomenon Tsunami was commonly not known, although Tsunamis occured frequently in the past (see overview). The second video shows images of the 2009 Samoa Tsunami. The website Tsunami alarm system gives information about earthquakes and possible Tsunamis on a daily bases. Remarkable is the high number of earthquakes every day. Via SMS people in the risky areas could be warned. In the US NOAA is developing early warning systems, like the D.A.R.T. II system.
